Das 64 Personen fassende Schiff ist eine Luxusyacht, die von der Compagnie du Ponant verwaltet wird. Das Dreimaster Segelschiff hat 32 Kabinen. Das in Frankreich gebaute Schiff wurde 1991 in Dienst gestellt. Es wurde sowohl f\u00fcr franz\u00f6sische Urlaubsreisende als auch f\u00fcr nordamerikanische Charterfl\u00fcge konzipiert.Das Kreuzfahrtrogramm von Le Ponant basiert auf luxuri\u00f6sen Mittelmeer Kreuzfahrten mit Abfahrten von Nizza. April 2008 wurde das Schiff\u00a0nur mit der Besatzung segelnd von somalischen Piraten angegriffen.Alle Menschen an Bord wurden als Geiseln festgenommen. Der Vorfall ereignete sich im Golf von Aden, w\u00e4hrend die Yacht von den Seychellen zum Mittelmeer segelte.\u00a08 Tage sp\u00e4ter wurden alle Menschen nach bezahlten L\u00f6segeld freigelassen.Die BPiraten versuchten in die W\u00fcste zu fliehen, aber ein Scharfsch\u00fctze deaktivierte ihr Fahrzeug und alle 6 Angreifer wurden gefangen genommen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p
